This 4 channel standalone DVR system has many features that higher end more expensive 4 channel systems on the market have and does just about everything they do for considerably less! This is one of the easiest stand alone DVR units to use also. Most are cumbersome and difficult to navigate. This unit is definitely not one of those. Quick and simple menu layout gets you to the settings you need fast and easy. Quickly move about and navigate the system menus with the direction buttons on the front of the unit or use the included remote control. Also easily and quickly access everything from any local computer on the network. One specification this system has that most of the higher end units don't is MPG4 compression. Most other standalone units utilize MJPEG video compression giving them larger image sizes and less storage capability. With 120 FPS [Live recording and Viewing], 720 x 480 image size and MPG4 compression codec, you get a higher quality recorded image than other more expensive DVR unit will give you and longer recording times on the HDD. Easily access live and recorded video locally or remotely from any computer in the world and adjust settings and recording schedules all via IE. No client software necessary. When the HDD becomes full, the unit will automatically start recording over the oldest video data first. Depending on the record settings selected, you can always have about 2 - 3 weeks worth of the latest recorded activity at your fingertips on the included 160 gig HDD. Need to save video for the police after an incident? Simply plug in the included 1 gig USB flash drive and back up any video of the event in question for later use. Controlling any Pelco D protocol PTZ camera, recording 2 channels of audio, emailing images, FTP image uploading support and complete video image adjustments give this unit the same features and functionality as units costing twice as much. And to add insult to injury, some more expensive and higher end units don�t have some of the features this unit possesses! Don't be a victim of overpriced and underperforming DVR equipment, this unit performs equal to or better than other more expensive units and has a better image. You will not find a unit of this quality for less! Unit uses any standard RCA input monitor or TV for the viewing device. With the optional VGA adapter you can use any VGA input TFT or CRT monitor with this DVR. Package includes 4 CM-ED-2500 dome cameras, 4 - 100' Siamese coax cables and power adapters for the cameras. Simply plug everything in, turn on the unit and you are monitoring and recording that fast. This is a turn key plug and play video surveillance package.
